Hervey Bay Boat Club

Official Partner

Perched on the edge of Urangan marina, the Hervey Bay Boat Club is one of the Fraser Coast's most versatile waterfront destinations — a place where a casual coffee at sunrise and a cocktail at sunset can both feel exactly right. **With sweeping views across the harbour towards K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) and the Great Sandy Strait, the Boat Club brings together dining, entertainment, cruises, a twin-screen cinema, and a working marina under one roof.** Founded in 1970 by a small group of boating enthusiasts, the Club has grown from just 12 original members to a community of more than 20,000 members from across Australia. Today it operates as a fully open, no-sign-in-required venue — welcoming locals and visitors alike every day of the year. ### Dining with a View Three distinct dining spaces mean you can match your mood to your meal. The all-day café opens from 8am with locally roasted coffee, breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, desserts and ice creams. The HarbourView à la carte restaurant serves lunch from noon and dinner from 6pm, with views stretching out over the marina. On warm days, the expansive deck is the place to be — open-air dining with the hum of the harbour below and K'gari on the horizon. ### Bars and Cocktail Lounge The main bar serves an extensive range of wines, spirits, beers on tap, and a fresh cocktail menu crafted by skilled mixologists. The adjoining Cocktail Lounge — fitted with plush booth seating and Italian furniture — offers a more intimate setting for an evening drink. A Sports Bar with TAB and Keno operates during peak times, and the Fraser Room Bar is available for private functions and special occasions. Live and free entertainment runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, featuring performers from the region and beyond — on the deck when the weather allows, or indoors when it doesn't. ### Boat Club Adventure Cruises The Club's dedicated cruise arm, Boat Club Adventure Cruises, operates the MV Amaroo — a 90-passenger dual-power catamaran — on a range of year-round departures. Hervey Bay is Australia's Whale Watch Capital, and humpback whales visit the protected bay during their annual migration season, making whale watching cruises a highlight of the calendar. The cruise program also includes sunset cruises and scenic tours towards K'gari and the Great Sandy Strait. ### Twin Cinemas The fully licensed twin-screen cinema shows the latest releases daily in clean, comfortable surrounds. Caramel popcorn and double-dipped choc tops are among the highlights — and yes, you can bring a drink from the bar. ### Marina and Boating Facilities The Boat Club Marina at Urangan Harbour accommodates vessels up to 25 metres and is open seven days a week. Amenities include laundry, secure car parking, a 24-hour self-serve fuel wharf, and access to yacht riggers, sail makers, mechanics, and a slipway with a 40-tonne travel lift. A courtesy bus is available for trips into central Hervey Bay. ### Functions and Accommodation The Club's top-floor Fraser Room offers a stunning function space overlooking the harbour with views towards K'gari — suitable for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations. The adjacent Harbour View Caravan Park and Campground provides a conveniently located base for exploring Hervey Bay and beyond, with a range of accommodation options available. ### Accessibility and Practicalities The venue is wheelchair accessible, with a large free car park directly opposite the front entrance. Assistance and guide dogs are welcome throughout the Club. A courtesy bus is available for guests needing a lift to or from central Hervey Bay. No sign-in is required — simply arrive and enjoy.
