River Run farm camping

Official Partner

Trade the crowds for wide river bends, starry nights and a friendly working farm on the Mary River. **Family- and pet-friendly farm camping with a camp kitchen, hot showers, a boat ramp and Saturday animal feeding, set on the Mary River in Antigua on the Fraser Coast.** Settle into powered or unpowered riverbank sites with easy access for cars and caravans — no 4WD required. You'll find flush toilets, hot and cold showers and a kids' bath shack under the stars (for children under 10, with adult supervision; no adults). The camp kitchen has BBQs, a microwave, kettle and toaster, plus a 70-inch TV for movie nights. There's good Telstra 4G coverage and Camplifi available on a user-pays basis. Campfires are allowed in designated pits only (fire bans apply); please take all rubbish with you and use the recycling bin for bottles and cans. Bookings are via Hipcamp. Where is River Run Farm Camping and what's the setting? On Antigua's Mary River, you're camping beside broad freshwater reaches with views to farmland and shady trees. A new playground sits by the camp kitchen under an old mango tree, and the remains of an 1870s sugar mill stand next door — a nod to Antigua's plantation past. What on-site facilities can you use? Facilities include a fully equipped camp kitchen/BBQ area, hot showers and flush toilets, a dump point, coin-operated laundry and an outdoor clothesline. Bring a brazier on legs if you want your own fire, or use the communal fire pits. Generators are permitted 9am–6pm (max two hours per site) and there's a 10:30pm noise curfew. Can you get on the water here? Yes. The on-site boat ramp is suitable for kayaks, tinnies, ski boats and jet skis, so you can make the most of the freshwater reaches. Fishing and water skiing are popular — please check current size and bag limits before you cast off. Swimming is at your own risk; waterways can have flood debris and deep holes, and children must be closely supervised. Are dogs welcome and what are the rules? Dogs are welcome — maximum two per site — provided they're on a leash, under control and never left unsupervised. Please clean up after your pets and ensure they don't roam or disturb livestock. Dogs that are off leash, aggressive or barking excessively will be asked to leave. When can kids meet the animals? Families can say hello to horses, ponies, donkeys, cows and goats that love gentle pats (carrots and apples are a hit). You'll also spot pigs, chooks, turkeys and geese. Organised animal feedings run on Saturday mornings, with extra sessions in school holidays and long weekends; check notices on site.
