Cheery Nomad RV Park & Farmstay
Official PartnerA working farmstay meets traveller-friendly RV park, Cheery Nomad RV Park & Farmstay occupies a peaceful rural property in St Helens, around 6 kilometres from Maryborough's CBD and roughly 20 minutes by road from Hervey Bay's beaches. Whatever your set-up — motorhome, caravan, camper trailer, or tent — you'll find accommodation to match, including hardstand powered sites built for larger rigs, powered grass sites, unpowered sites, and self-contained options. At the social centre of the park you'll find Lucky's Bar, a licensed venue where guests come together for a drink, catch happy hour from 4:30 pm, shoot some pool, and enjoy easy conversation with views over the dam. Come nightfall, the communal fire pit draws a crowd — free firewood and a wood-fired camp oven make for a genuine outback-style evening. A practical camp kitchen kitted out with gas cooktops, a sink, and a television rounds out the communal spaces, while table tennis and darts keep things lively. Guests preferring a roof overhead can book into a self-contained cabin with a restful rural outlook. The amenities block provides hot showers, toilets, laundry facilities, and disabled-accessible conveniences. Friendly farm animals roam the property, giving Cheery Nomad that authentic farmstay character you won't find at an ordinary caravan park. Positioned off the Hervey Bay–Maryborough Road, the park makes a natural base for exploring Maryborough's heritage streetscapes and its well-known literary connections, as well as the whale watching waters of Hervey Bay and the gateway to K'gari (formerly Fraser Island), the remarkable sand island just offshore. On-site caretakers Frank and Di are always around to lend a hand, giving every stay a warm, personal feel.
