Tin Can Bay Ferry
Official PartnerStep aboard the Tin Can Bay Ferry and explore the stunning waterways stretching across the Great Sandy Strait — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and RAMSAR Wetland of international significance connecting Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. Whether you're unwinding on an evening cruise as the sun dips over Snapper Creek, enjoying a cruise-and-dine lunch at a local restaurant, or crossing the strait to watch wild Indo-Pacific dolphins feed at Barnacles Dolphin Centre, there's a genuinely unhurried way to take in this remarkable corner of the Fraser Coast. Departing from Norman Point, Tin Can Bay, the 90-minute Sunset Cruise is a relaxed evening on the water — feel free to bring along your own refreshments and settle in as the light changes over the strait. The Three-Hour Dolphin Feeding Experience picks up passengers at Carlo Point, Rainbow Beach, and connects them to Norman Point in time for the morning feed at Barnacles — fish is included in the ticket price. An on-demand ferry service also links Tin Can Bay with Rainbow Beach for daytrippers, and private charters are available for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. All services are subject to minimum passenger numbers, tides and weather. Bookings are essential and must be made in advance. Payment is accepted on board by cash, card or EFTPOS.
