Alpha 31 Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden

Official Partner

Tucked away just 10 minutes from Maryborough's CBD, Alpha31 Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden is one of the Fraser Coast's most enchanting hidden gems. Located at 31 Alpha Plantation Road, Tinana, this extraordinary space was created by sisters Inge and Monica Bayer — two award-winning artists whose combined vision has produced a gallery unlike anything else in the region. Step inside and you'll discover more than 100 original works spanning a remarkable range of mediums: oil, acrylic, mixed media, watercolours, and pastels sit alongside handcrafted lead lighting and sculptures carved from limestone, hebel stone, and sandstone. The experience doesn't end at the front door — the sculpture garden extends outdoors, where works of all sizes are positioned among natural surroundings, inviting you to wander and take your time. Entry to the gallery is free, and Inge and Monica are known for their warmth and generosity — happy to guide you through the collection and share the stories behind each piece. Whether you're a passionate art lover or simply curious, Alpha31 offers a genuinely personal encounter with original, locally created art. Maryborough itself is Queensland's heritage city, just 30 minutes from Hervey Bay and a short journey from K'gari (formerly Fraser Island), making Alpha31 an ideal cultural stop on any Fraser Coast itinerary. Browse the collection, ask questions, and let the creativity of these talented sisters leave a lasting impression.
