Rainbow Escape Charters
Official PartnerChase hard‑fighting reef fish off K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) with a skipper who knows every contour of the local reefs. **Small‑group offshore charters from Rainbow Beach with all gear supplied, early departures, and access to some of the Fraser Coast's most productive reef systems.** Three charter options suit different ambitions: a full-day trip working rocky reef country, a longer full-day run pushing out to prime coral grounds, or an extended deep-sea adventure reaching all the way to Indian Head. Trips kick off well before dawn from Bullock Point Boat Ramp, Inskip Point, with everything you need already on board. Bookings are essential and spots go quickly, particularly around school holidays and long weekends. What's the right charter for you? Extended Day focuses on rocky reef country close to home; Extended Day Plus ventures further to reach premier coral grounds; Extreme is the full deep-sea commitment, pushing out toward Indian Head for up to 15 hours on the water. All trips run in small groups with quality equipment and hands-on guidance throughout. What can you expect to catch? Rocky reef grounds hold classic bottom-dwelling species — think snapper, pearl perch, mulloway and various cod. Further out on coral terrain, the target list shifts to prized table fish including red emperor, nannygai, coral trout and tusk fish. Live baiting is a cornerstone technique, and you'll also have opportunities to try artificials and cut baits depending on what the conditions call for. Where do trips leave from and what's included? All charters depart from Bullock Point Boat Ramp at Inskip Point, Rainbow Beach, with a pre-dawn start timed to hit the key bite windows. Rainbow Escape Charters has rods, reels, bait and tackle ready to go, plus refreshments to keep you going through the day. Prefer to fish with your own setup? That's absolutely fine. All trips operate subject to weather and sea conditions. Who's behind Rainbow Escape Charters? Skipper Dave grew up around these waters as part of a commercial fishing family and has spent more than three decades working the offshore reefs around Rainbow Beach and K'gari. The operation is family-run, small by design, and built around sharing genuine local knowledge rather than running a production-line charter experience. When should you book? Spots are limited and demand is strong across peak periods and long weekends. Getting in early — several months ahead for the most popular dates — gives you the best pick of windows and the best chance of a confirmed trip.
